Product Owner

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

The Product Owner is responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the product, ensuring the development team delivers maximum value aligned with business objectives. This role demands a strong technical background, product management skills, and the ability to drive product direction with confidence. The Product Owner will collaborate closely with stakeholders, development teams, and project managers to prioritize features, manage the product backlog, and guide the product from conception to launch, with a hands-on approach to creating essential product documentation and design artifacts.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Vision & Strategy:

  • Define, articulate, and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research, competitor analysis, and gather customer insights to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Leverage analytics to inform product decisions and measure the success of product initiatives.

Backlog Management:

  • Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure the development team focuses on the most impactful features.
  • Translate high-level requirements into detailed user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria, with a clear understanding of the business value.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and align expectations, ensuring a unified vision for the product.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, advocating for the product’s needs and customer needs.
  • Communicate effectively and assertively to secure necessary approvals and guide the product in the right direction.
  • Foster a team spirit and good communication abilities to enhance collaboration across teams.

Product Development:

  • Participate actively in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and review sessions to ensure that product goals are consistently met.
  • Set clear sprint goals to guide the development team’s efforts and ensure alignment with the overall product vision.
  • Create detailed sitemaps, wireframes, and user stories that clearly outline the user experience and functionality, emphasizing a hands-on approach.
  • Analyze preferences and requests of end users to ensure that product features align with user needs and expectations.
  • Write and define acceptance tests to ensure that product features meet the required standards and user expectations.
  • Make critical decisions regarding feature prioritization, scope, and release planning, balancing short-term needs with long-term vision.
  • Maintain good organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with QA teams to define test cases and ensure the product meets high-quality standards.
  • Approve features as “done” based on predefined acceptance criteria, with a strong focus on user satisfaction and business value.

Product Launch & Evaluation:

  • Coordinate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Monitor product performance post-launch, leveraging analytics to iterate on features and optimize product outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle, from conception to launch and beyond.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience working in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in Product Ownership or Agile methodologies (CSPO, PSPO).
  • Experience in product management with a strong focus on analytics and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in tools like Trello, JIRA, Confluence, Figma or similar.
